My Mother’s Perfume/High school

It relaxed me, the perfume

Mother only wore it on special occasions

You could smell it better when she walked in the room

Today she wore it because of my graduation

But it’s scary to think

After this I’ll be gone

The whole point of high school was to go to college

But it’s hard to move on

My grandmother congratulates me, with money from her wallet

Although I got nervous on the stage

Then I smelled the aroma of roses

The thought of ending high school didn’t seem worthless

I tried to stay calm

So i took a deep breathe and all my worries were gone
